I found some Gems!

On a day like today, Blizzard and wind up to 54km/h I decided not to go to school (that never closes)~ and rather invest some time into finding more about Jesus in Japan.
I came across Michael Oh, an American born Korean missionary  living in Nagoya, and I wanted to share this video with you.

~(o^-^)/ Super!!!!

Lately I have felt like Superman!! ~(o^-^)/
Today is Saturday (but am so like fri) tomorrow is Sunday! do you know what Sunday is!? your thinking "Church right?" no! not JUST Church! Japanese Church!! Yes I found a Japanese church in Calgary! and the pastor's wife has been so awesome, the entire church is wonderful and very inviting! Miyuki (the Pastors wife) Teaches Japanese! So from now on Thur at 7 I get to learn Japanese for an hour ...I am so blessed to be learning from such an awesome person! Wow it's really awesome! anyway tomorrow ...yes...Sunday, The speaker is going to be someone who went to do clean up work after March 11th, I am soooooo excited for that because I want t do that so bad!Which leads me to the next thing, I may have found an opportunity to go to Japan for a month (4 weeks) the chance looks small but ya never know God works in mysterious ways. It would be very close to the disaster area and would be a camp for elementary students who are traumatized from the tsunami/earthquake. This is an amazing opportunity not only for the obvious reasons but also because I have lived my entire life surrounded with kids and are very good with them! I have not only been called to Japan but Kids as well. It would be this summer too! It almost bring me to tears just to think about it. If this opportunity opened I really would cry!! ^^  I have taught myself very well and still have lots to learn but this just amazing! :'D well that's all for now :D ~God Bless. and keep soaring!

School vs Church

Most youth that are hungry for God can agree that "School is a distraction form God". Yes school is important but is it more important? Know your priorities! Jesus is always 1st! I have been struggling a bit in school lately but i know that I will end up where I am ment to and I will work hard right now at the things that matter. Going to meetings, contacting Christian Japanese Artists, Getting involved with many church's, ect. When I am spending my day contacting Japanese artists and Emailing pastors I see it as a very productive day! Some may read these words and think "What a fool".

  • "Our soul waits for the Lord; He is our help and our shield.
For our heart shall rejoice in Him, because we have trusted in His holy name."
    Psalm 33:20-21
  • "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths." Proverbs 3:5-6
  • "...we have no power against this great multitude that is coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are upon You." 2 Chronicles 20:12
  •  "It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man." Psalm 118:8
  •  “Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, and whose hope is the LORD." Jeremiah 17:7
  •  "...the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord will give grace and glory....
  • O Lord of hosts, blessed is the man who trusts in You!" Psalm 84:11-12
  •  "Preserve me, O God, for in You I put my trust."  Psalm 16:1
  •  "Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid." Isaiah 12:2
  •  "I will love You, O Lord, my strength.
  • The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer;
    My God, my  strength, in whom I will trust;
My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
     I will call upon the Lord,  who is worthy to be praised;
So shall I be saved from my enemies."
    Psalm 18:1-3
  •  "Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him." Psalm 2:12
  •  "He who trusts in his own heart is a fool...." Proverbs 28:26
I could go on forever, Still think I am a fool? no God will provide. I will do my school work in my spare time and it will get me through. What God is going to do with my life can not be taught in a classroom!

CSC Meeting Outcome

~ahhh Thought it was time to post an update on my progress with my "Plan".
Well if you don't know already I made a Missions Trip proposal and went to a meeting about it at my church (took a but there alone carrying a bag with my laptop and books). Talked a bit and this is what I took from the meeting. CSC (Center Street Church) is unable to start fundraising at this moment (why? I don't know). To do a missions trip you need to work with a partner church, CSC dose not have a partner church in Japan. To make a partner Church They need to have someone from CSC who has been there and say that it is a good church. They also offered to help me find a way to go with a organization or group. Now in no way am I hatting on CSC, I have been there for 14 years and God is defiantly working there, but keep in mind this world is not perfect. Now I have done my research, and I know that There is no way for a grad nine student to go to Japan with a missions group from Canada. high school is another topic though, When you get into high school it's as if you are able to do almost anything in the mission field (of course over breaks in school). Anyway when I left the meeting I left crying...(I don't cry often!). Is this going to stop me? no! I have not given up. I intended for this to be a group thing something new not me joining something that already happens, and that's what it is going to be no matter how! I have decided that it dose not have to be with CSC because I have so much more I could do now and start something new (dose that make sense?)

Missions Trip Proposal

MTO Proposal
     日本
(Details to be edited)
My Name is Carly, I am young but with Jesus by my side I can make a change.
~And so can You
Introduction
Last year (2011) in March there was a tsunami/earthquake, I know that although the incident was tragic and sorrowful, to look on the good side and know that the people have been robed from their basic needs and will be lead to think the questions like “Why am I here?”, “Is there a God out there ?”, “Why me” these questions can be answered with the knowledge of Jesus. Unfortunately Jesus isn’t known much in Japan.

Christianity in Japan compared to neighboring nations
I have to explain this first because doing mission work in Japan is very different from doing it somewhere where the people might be more accepting. You have to understand Japanese mind set. I done lots of studying on Christianity in Japan and surrounding areas. Christianity has been in Japan for over 150 years but then why are there so few believers?  Dr. Minoru Okuyama who is the director of the Missionary Training Centers in Japan said “Japanese people value human relationships more than truth and principle”

·         China                                                                                                        It is well known that China has a large Christian community and with the country being a communist country there are laws against preaching the truth and yet they strive and stay faithful. They put Truth before human relationship.

·         South Korea                                                                                                South Korea also has the world’s largest church which has more than 800,000 people attending. They put Truth before human relationship.

·         Japan
Japan has the 10th highest population in the world and is ranked 62th in land size. The population of people who say that they believe “there is a God” is only 15% and the population that believe “Jesus is Lord and the only way to the Father is through him” is only 1%. Many of the churches in Japan are small and normally have a low Youth attendance. But the Christians that are there are strong and when they worship they worship joyfully, sincerely, and proudly.

Understanding Japanese mindset
Japanese highly value human relationship and care about how they are seen by their neighbors, coworkers, classmates, friends and family, especially the adults. They don’t want to bother others and instead try to deal with things alone and are very independent. One example of this is the suicide rate. Japan is known for having a very massive amount of people who commit suicide yearly. There are many things that can lead a person to commit something so drastic but one of the reasons that they chose suicide over seeking help is because they don’t want to inconvenience anybody.

The Need
Japan is not often seen as “in need” because it is neither a third world country nor a communist country. Not to say that there are no missionaries that go there, but fewer than many other countries. The Japanese need to know that they are loved (as dose everyone) so that they may live a life of true happiness and share their happiness with others Jesus said “Go into the world and perch the good news to everyone”, My proposal is that we go and experience the different culture and see how a Christian living there can share the good news. We would be in fellowship with our fellow Jesus Freaks, and see the passion of the people who grew up with no hope but are thankful to have found it.

INFO:
Funding
Money should not be a problem for anyone. I am hoping to have a bottle twice a month, two different kinds. 1. at the Main campus 2. In communities.  Also each student can write letters to their friends and family asking for donations. We could also set up a place in the main campus to let the people in the church know what this mission’s trip is all about, and people can contribute. I also have would like the sign up time to be as soon as possible so we can get somewhat of an idea on the price (keeping in mind that we will have to have plane tickets).

When and for how long?
I am hoping for July 9th  to July 16th  of 2013 a two week trip may seem a bit long but if you have been on an MTO before you know that the day before you get back you wish you could stay longer. Details about where we can stay can be discussed with the church we will work with.

What is our connection to Japan?
I am attempting to set up a new connection to Japan. Since we don’t have any yet I am hoping to JLH Osaka (Jesus Lifehouse Osaka) and CSC (Center Street Church) will become partner churches. Why Jesus Lifehouse Osaka? Jesus Lifehouse Osaka Is the Perfect Church to work with because…
1.      Services are bilingual.
2.       There are Lots of youth.
3.      They are a very active and growing church.
Contact them at: luke.lifehouse@gmail.com
In the Future…
If all goes well I think this trip should be considered to become an annual MTO. Everyone deserves a chance to hear the good news and make the choice. This trip will not only impact the Japanese but also the youth that go on the trip in a huge way! When Jesus walked the earth he was a man of relationship and pure love, who can deny unconditional love, that is that way to change the world
~Go into the world and perch the good news to everyone

Christmas is here once again! (I guess I feel obligated to make a post about Christmas haha (^_^)v)
Well I hope everyone remembers the true meaning of Christmas and if your a parent make sure your kids know why they celebrate Christmas.

Santa?
Well this mayt sound cruel or harsh (haha ^^) but I never grew up believing in santa, all i think of it know is "Well thats alright i didn't miss out on anything really, going and sitting on a strange mans lap, writing to a fat guy in a igloo, or thinking that rain dear fly and have red noses". Honestly it didn't go through the heart break of realizing that he wasn't real (or the Easter bunny or the tooth fairy) like other kids who were let down by realizing they had been lied too.

Instead I grew up with Christmas is Jesus's birth and Easter is his death and resurrection, I thought of it as  bothersome as a kid (not that I disagreed with it but i just wanted my chocolate and presents, like a kid would right?) but I am thankful for mom being relentless about it because it is important after all he is the bridge between us and the father.

So far for me Christmas has been exciting because I know that me and my family will have a Christmas dinner, It's always fun because despite the age differences and disagreements we always have good laughs. This year it will be at my sisters house which has just finished all the major construction, I hope I can sleep there on Christmas eve ^^.
we are all squinting from the sun XD

Also Yesterday I found this church called Jesus Life House! In Japan there is one in Osaka, Tokyo, Yokohama, Nagoya, Sendai and Sapporo! How Cool!! Another place I really gotta check out! And it seems to be really bilingual (Although I am learning Japanese) I really gotta go there some day!!!
